It does not matter if you already have an existing Amazon Prime subscription in the USA or in the UK or in Germany, you will still receive the following error message because you can not really watch Amazon videos and Prime videos in Australia and New Zealand. So, what can you do for this suffering to end and to make you able to watch Instant Videos from Amazon and Prime videos in New Zealand and Australia?

How to watch Amazon Prime videos in Australia and New Zealand?

To enjoy your Amazon Prime subscription in Australia or in New Zealand, you will need to get an American IP address. But, it isn’t enough in itself to get an American IP address. 98% of all VPN providers with servers in the USA are blocked by Amazon.com, meaning that you will only see the error message shown earlier in the article as you try to watch Amazon Prime content in Australia. What can you do about that?

You need to sign up for the VPN services of ExpressVPN. This is a VPN provider that has worked constantly with Amazon Prime, even when all other VPN providers have been blocked.

ExpressVPN might be the best VPN provider on the market at the moment, and they will help you unblock Amazon Prime in Australia right away. You can also use ExpressVPN to watch American Netflix, to stream English Netflix, to watch BBC in England, to watch German TV channels online, and so much more. If you have a Hulu subscription, you can also stream Hulu from abroad with ExpressVPN.

ExpressVPN has a 30-day full refund policy, and to give you more value for your money, they will give you 3 extra months for free if you sign up using the link above (the button).

To make it better, you can use your ExpressVPN subscription at three different computers (or devices) at the same time. In other words, you can split the cost with two others and all three of you can use the same subscription at the same time. That is great value for your money!

Can I watch Amazon Instant Videos in Australia as well like this?

If you have bought an Instant Video on Amazon.com or maybe you have rented one, you can easily watch it and get access to it using ExpressVPN. But, there might be problems with actually buying the Instant Movie you want to buy.

It is possible to sign up for Amazon Prime in the United States with your Australian payment card. That is no problem. But, you will not be able to buy an Amazon Instant video with your Australian payment card. To do so, you will need a payment card issued in the United States, and that isn’t necessarily easy. To be honest, it is very hard to get such a card. In other words, you will not be able to actually buy Instant Videos with your Australian issued card (or any other payment card issued outside the USA). But, if you have bought a movie earlier or have an American Issued payment card, you can easily buy Amazon Instant Videos and stream them online with ExpressVPN.

Can I really subscribe to Amazon Prime with my Australian card?

Yes, if you want to sign up for Amazon Prime and buy an Amazon Prime subscription, you can easily do so with your payment card issued anywhere in the world. That should not cause any trouble, and you will then have access to all the Amazon Prime videos and content all across the world, including in New Zealand and in Australia.

More about ExpressVPN

If you first spend money on ExpressVPN, you deserve to get the most out of your investment. I have already written and mentioned that you can use your ExpressVPN subscription at three devices at the same time. And if that wasn’t enough, you can use it to connect to any of their servers in more than 60 nations. There is no limit on the bandwidth you can use, and they will give you access to all the popular features a VPN client should include today. Some of those features are, for example, a kill-switch. This might sound brutal, but it is very useful if you want to use open networks and make sure that you stay safe and encrypted. If you activate the kill switch and your VPN connection should drop, all your Internet activity will be blocked, making sure that none of your information is leaked.

In the same way, you can also activate the split-tunneling function with ExpressVPN. Using this you can make sure that Google Chrome is using the active VPN connection, while Mozilla Firefox is using your normal Internet connection. This might be useful if you want to stream content on Amazon Prime in the USA and watch Tenplay in Australia at the same time, in two different browsers on the same computer.

ExpressVPN supports all the popular VPN protocols, and you will for sure feel safe using their 256-bit AES encryption. Their company is located in the British Virgin Islands, and they are running with a strict no logging policy.

Do you understand why ExpressVPN is one of the most popular VPN providers on the market now?

  • Hey Christine. Couple of questions for you. In the process of emigrating from the UK. Heavy users of Netflix and Amazon Prime. So ideally like to have access to both in NZ. Have smartTV, AppleTV and so forth as well as subscriptions for NetFlix and an Amazon Prime Account. What I would like to avoid is another streaming device to continue access to Amazon. You mentioned having an Amazon Prime account which we do, so I take it therefore we will need to keep this registered as per to the UK and fund accordingly (annual fee) then follow the above instructions? I won’t need to purchase a Amazon Fire TV Stick or Streaming Fire box? Guess picking the same for NetFlix Account? Keep it registered as per UK region? This paid on a monthly basis.
    Thanks,
    Paul

You can not watch Amazon Prime on your Apple TV, but on your SmartTV you should be able to watch. But, to watch your UK Prime subscription in the New Zealand you will need to test some different VPN providers to find out which one will work… I would probably try Unlocator as described in this article first as I do believe it will work for you!

When it comes to Netflix you will probably have to go for watching Australian Netflix. No changes needs to be made for this to work! You can watch Australian Netflix with your current Netflix subscription, no changes or extra subscription needs to be made!

  • These “easy” instructions are a load of bullshit, we shouldn’t have to pay for a 3party vpn just to watch T.G.T. Sort your shit out Amazon.

    • Christine Wilson says:

I agree that this is Amazon’s problem, but since they do not seem to open up for usage without VPN’s this is still the only way to access and enjoy Amazon Prime and Amazon Videos outside the United States….

  • Thanks Christine. So basically however I need to maintain my UK subscriptions for both Amazon Prime and Netflix, bearing in mind needing a ‘strong’ VPN for Amazon. Agree with Ben re Amazon. The Amazon Echo in the UK being a prime example compared to buying the product in the US with the list of services available. Not so in the UK. Very little point in the product come the UK at the moment.

This article is completely rewritten and now totally up to date and you can follow the instructions to watch Amazon Prime videos in Australia, in New Zealand, and wherever you might be in the world!
