Christmas would not be complete without the adventures of Kevin McCallister. The Home Alone movies are comedy Christmas movies from the 1990s which is centered around a boy, Kevin McCallister. In the first movie Kevin is accidentally left behind home when his family flies to Paris for the Christmas vacation, he enjoys the holiday without his family until the two unfortunate burglars try to break into his home, Kevin tries everything to protect his home until the parents are back. The second movie called Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is also a charming and highly entertaining movie with the same characters from the first film. Just like in the first movie Kevin gets into a big trouble again during Christmas. One year after Kevin was left behind home during the Christmas vacation he is accidentally finds himself all alone in New York with the same burglars he already fought last year.
The Santa Clause
The next movie from our list is The Santa Clause. The Santa Clause is another Christmas comedy film from the 1990s. The story of the movie centers around the ordinary Scott Alvin, who accidentally causes Santa Clause to fall from his rooftop. Scott and his young son go to the North Pole where he realizes he has to become the next Santa Clause in order to keep Christmas alive. The movie has a second and a third part too with the same characters, in the second part of the series, Santa Clause 2, Scott who became the new Santa Clause has to get married or Christmas will die and to top this Santa´s own son, Charlie is on the naughty list, so Scott is facing a lot of things to solve. In the third movie, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause Scott´s most important duties are to keep his own family happy and to stop Jack Frost taking Christmas over.
The Holiday
The third movie from the list is The Holiday. The Holiday is a romantic comedy Christmas movie which follows the adventures of two women who temporary exchange houses during the Christmas holiday. In the movie several well known actors appear such as Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet who are the main characters in the film and Jude Law and Joe Black who are the other leading characters in it. The two women exchange homes during the holiday season, Amanda (Cameron Diaz),who lives in Los Angeles and Iris (Kate Winslet), who lives in a small village near to London escape from the heart break to each other´s home. The Holiday is highly recommended to anyone who loves funny and easy love stories with nice characters.
The Family Stone
Another really popular Christmas movie is The Family Stone. The Family Stone is a lovely comedy that follows the adventures of Meredith who visits her boyfriend´s family the very first time during the Christmas holiday. Apparently the free spirited Stone family is not the easiest to handle for the uptight and conservative Meredith. Meredith causes more complications when she asks her easygoing, bubbly and open sister to join to them for support. In the movie Meredith is played by Sarah Jessica Parker but other well known actors appear too such as Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Luke Wilson, Brian J. White, Clarie Danes and so on. The Family Stone is a really entertaining movie for the whole family.
Dr. Seuss` How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The last movie from Amazon we would like to write about is the Dr. Seuss` How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Christmas would not be complete without this popular Christmas story which is originally a children´s story with the same name by Dr. Seuss. The story of the movie centers around the Grinch who truly hates Christmas and tries to steal it, but fortunately just in time a girl called Cindy Lou Who turns upside down the life of the Grinch. The movie stars Jim Carrey who plays the always grump Grinch. The story itself takes place in the fictional city of Whoville, in Whoville the Whos live who adore Christmas and that is their favorite time of the year. This funny and charming movie is one of the best choice if you want to get into the Christmas spirit.
