Those bad superheroes surprised me (The Boys on Amazon)

I have just watched the first episode of The Boys on Amazon. I didn’t know what to expect before the first episode, only that it was supposed to be about superheroes not only fighting on the good side. I watched the trailer as well, but I had a hard time really understanding what to expect based on the trailer. But, after watching one single episode, I know have a better grip on the story!

Hughie Campbel in The Boys
Hughie Campbel in The Boys

I thought The Boys would be about a group of superheroes doing good, but also having trouble with their own personalities. After watching the first episode on Amazon, I got to say that I was kind of correct. But, not entirely.

Who are The Boys?

To my surprise, The Boys isn’t the title of those superheroes, but about a small group of some people actually going against the superheroes. But, why would they need to fight against them or go against the superheroes? Well, it seems as if they aren’t really as good as one would expect.

Hughie Campbell is one of the boys. We meet him at the start of the first episode as he stands with his girlfriend chatting on the street. Suddenly, A-Train (a superhero moving with superspeeds) runs by them and the girlfriend ends up dead after being “torn to pieces” by the superhero moving with superspeed. Hughie isn’t able to be at peace with this, and as he meets Billy Butcher, they decide to go for “The Seven” to get them down. But, it isn’t gonna be that easy.

At the same time, we also meet the brand new member of The Seven, Erin Moriarty, better known as Starlight. She comes with entirely pure intentions to the superhero-assembly, and she is greatly surprised to discover the corrupted morale among the people she had adored until she became one of them. Where will this take her in the coming episode? I don’t know yet!

Why The Boys surprised me (in a positive way)?

After watching the trailer, I didn’t feel like watching The Boys at all. It looked like a mess to me, but I took the time to watch the first episode. And to be honest, it threw me so many curveballs that it caught my attention, and actually made me curious about how this will continue from here.

Yes, the fact that it is so different makes it good. I still have seven more episodes to watch before I get to the end of season 1, and we already know that The Boys has been renewed for a second season. But, based on the pilot episode, this for sure looks good!

Where can you watch The Boys online?

If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, then stream it on Amazon Prime. If you have a Prime Video subscription, stream it on Prime Video. If you do not have either, you better get one of them. You can find out more on how to stream Amazon Prime videos abroad, and those instructions will also help you actually buy an Amazon Prime subscription in the United States.

I do not know of any other TV channels showing this Amazon show currently, so this is the way to watch it. There are some Amazon shows that you can stream on other platforms, but this is not one of them!

Have you seen the first episode? Have you seen several episodes? How did you like The Boys? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I thought Under the Silver Lake was worth watching…

Every month I write articles about what’s coming to Amazon Prime. One of the highlights for me in July was the arrival of Under the Silver Lake. At least, I thought it was going to be a highlight!

It might sound strange from someone writing blog posts about Amazon Prime, but I normally don’t find the selection of movies and TV shows available on Amazon Prime to be satisfying. It is almost identical to what you can stream on Hulu, only with fewer TV shows available. But, Under the Silver Lake was a movie that was added to Amazon Prime that couldn’t be streamed on Hulu, nor on HBO Now or on Netflix, so this gave me a chance to enjoy the membership. But, was the evening spent watching Under the Silver Lake a success?

Should you watch Under the Silver Lake on Amazon Prime?

If you already have an Amazon Prime membership, feel free to give the movie a try. But, if you don’t have an Amazon Prime membership yet, I would not get one because of this movie. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, except for the fact that I thought it would contain interesting twists and an interesting story. I did get some twists, but they were simply too crazy and ended up being boring. As a result, we were three who watched the first hour of the movie, and I ended up finishing it all by myself. I didn’t watch it till the end because I liked it, but because I am like Sheldon in the Big Bang Theory. Maybe you don’t know what that means? I simply have to finish what I start to have peace in my mind. So, I finished it, and as I finished, I felt as if I had wasted a couple of hours of my life.

Well, I didn’t exactly throw them away, because they helped me write this negative article. But, still – this wasn’t the best movie experience I have had. In fact, it was one of the most boring and disappointing movie experiences I have had in a long time. Maybe it would have been easier if I didn’t look so much forward to watching it?

Have you seen Under the Silver Lake on Amazon Prime? How did you like it?

I thought this would be one of the great summer movies on Amazon Prime in 2019, but I was wrong. I guess I should watch The Spy Who Dumped Me instead? Or do you have some other recommendation for me?

New on Amazon Prime in August 2019

What has Amazon Prime got to offer their customers in the United States in August 2019? Are they giving them many reasons to start their Fire TV or to start their laptop or their Prime Video application on a mobile device in August? Find out as you check the list of what’s new on Amazon Prime in August 2019.

I am actually a bit surprised by the list presenting what’s coming to Amazon Prime in August. Do you know why? It feels better and more interesting than it normally does.

If you want action taking place at beautiful sights all around the world, make sure to stream Mission Impossible: Fallout on Amazon Prime in August. I have seen it myself, and it is so great to see Tom Cruise in this series. The movies are funny, and they are still making your palms sweat as he faces challenges all across the world, like when he hangs from the Preachers Pulpit in Norway at the end of the movie (the story tells that it is in Kashmir, but the true location of recording was in Norway). You can also see them parachute above Paris and much more in this quite new action movie!

A Simple Favor is another blockbuster movie coming quickly to Amazon Prime (something we are not very used to). This is a thriller like we know them and love them, packed with curves and interesting turns in the story. I watched this is in the cinema, and even though I didn’t love the movie, I still had a great time watching it. A perfect treat for those who love mysterious thrillers, without getting too scared.

Photograph is the name of an Amazon Original movie. I hadn’t heard about it before writing this article, but it looks like a really nice and romantic movie, ideal for women and for couples. We meet a man who has never really found a girl (and he always wants the approval of his grandmother), and we also get exposed to a girl looking for the one true love. Will they meet?

Good Omens – can this be good?

I have watched quite a lot of Hanna recently, but as Good Omens also popped up on my screen in ads before a Hanna episode, I decided to take a look at this show as well.

I had no clue at all what Good Omens was about, but the official description at the Prime Video website says:

Aziraphale and Crowley, of Heaven and Hell respectively, have grown rather fond of the Earth. So it’s terrible news that it’s about to end. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing. The Four Horsemen are ready to ride. Everything is going according to the Divine Plan…except that someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist. Can our heroes find him and stop Armageddon before it’s too late?

Maybe you expect Good Omens to be some sort of dark and action filled armageddon series. Well, think again? You do not need more than one minute of this show to understand that this is meant to be a comedy, amusing its viewers and also having fun with the basic principles of good and evil.

Good Omens on Amazon Prime
Good Omens on Amazon Prime

From the first minutes of Good Omens

In the first scenes of Good Omens, we meet the two angels Aziraphale and Crowley. One is meant to be the messenger of good while the other is meant to be the messenger of evil. But, as the evil (Crowley) tempt Adam and Eve into eating of the apple, they actually start to think about whether he actually did good by giving them the knowledge. After all, if it wasn’t bad, then why would Crowley tempt them to eat from the tree?

And as the two creatures keep on speaking, they both fear that they have done wrong. What if Crowley did well as he tempted them to eat from the tree, and what if Aziraphale did wrong in sending them away?

From the first scene in Good Omens on Amazon.com

As you can understand, this is a real soup of a story, but it has some funny points to it. And as we get to know these two creatures, we understand that they actually appreciate their place on earth and they have little interested in seeing the world come to an end. So, what can they do about it?

That is what you will find out if you decide to watch Good Omens on Amazon Prime.

How to watch Good Omens online?

You need to have an Amazon Prime subscription or a Prime Video subscription to watch Good Omens. If you do not have any such subscription, find out more on how you can sign up for and watch Amazon Prime in the USA all across the world right here.

The 15 Best Movies on Amazon Prime [Summer of 2019]

Bored? Looking for something to stream? Tired of tanning and swimming? Here you will find the 15 best movies on Amazon Prime this summer!

It isn’t easy to compile a list of the best movies on Amazon Prime. There is so much to watch, and we are completely different when it comes to taste and requests. That is why I tried to include quite different movies in this list, meaning that you will hopefully find at least a couple of movies that you will find interesting!

Take a look at the trailer above from YouTube presenting the best summer movies on Amazon Prime in 2019 to find out more.

Some of the Amazon Prime highlights this summer

Are you tired of the typical Hollywood movies and want something that has a meaning, a purpose, and not always the happiest ending? The Private War tells the story of a photographer who has traveled into war zones and seen terrible things, all because she wanted to report and see with her own eyes what’s going on. This is a true story and one that might be a real eye-opener!

Even though I can Only Imagine is a Hollywood production, it is still based on an entirely true story, and it is a heart-melting story about love, forgiveness, compassion, hatred, and a beautiful song born out of all of this.

Would you rather watch some traditional Hollywood fun? Then you can go for Baywatch or Overboard for some lame, but still funny, summer movies on Amazon Prime.

Reese Witherspoon in Home Again is a good summer candidate on Amazon Prime this summer.
Do not miss out on Reese Witherspoon on Home Again, also available and recommended to stream on Amazon Prime during the summer of 2019.

In the mood for some action instead? Then Bruce Willis is quite amusing in the movie Death Wish, while Liam Neeson does his part to keep you stuck to the screen in the movie The Commuter. Neither of these movies are great, in fact, Death Wish actually won some Raspberry Awards (the opposite of the Academy Awards). But, that doesn’t mean that it is entirely terrible!

If you liked About Time, go ahead and watch Time Freak as well. It is almost a copy of the story, except for the fact that it doesn’t take the concept to include child-birth and so on.

These are just some of all the amazing content that you can stream on Amazon Prime this summer. Take a look at the entire clip above to get even more recommendations. If you have some personal recommendations that you would like to share with our readers, write a comment and let me know whatever might be on your heart.

Do you have trouble streaming the Prime included content abroad?

If you want to stream some of the recommended movies, but cannot do so because you are abroad, follow the instructions here at amazonprime.fromabroad.org to find out how it can be done!

The highlights on Amazon Prime in June 2019

Have you thought through what you are going to watch on Amazon Prime in June 2019? I have, and I have just published this little clip in which I present the most interesting titles coming to Amazon Prime in June.

After reading through the list of all the movies and TV shows coming to Prime in June, I didn’t have a hard time picking out a few movies and TV shows that I find to be more interesting than the rest of the arrivals.

I have already written an article about the arrival of Suits season 8 to Amazon Prime, and even though it is great to have it coming, it is kind of late, almost one year after it premiered on Netflix and on USA Network (and one month before the premiere on the ninth and final season of the series). It is great to see it coming, but I guess all hard-core Suits fans have already seen season 8 before it will arrive at Amazon Prime in June.

Movies coming to Amazon Prime

There are some great movies coming to Amazon Prime, and for example, Juliet Naked is a movie I believe many people never noticed upon its birth, meaning that this is a great chance to actually see this entertaining movie.

The Idris Elba directed movie named Yardie should have arrived at Amazon Prime in May, but for some reason, it is still on the list of arrivals in June, so I guess it was delayed for some reason or another.

If you like those alien movies, District 9 might be a highlight for you. Here you will see the human beings speaking with aliens, but will it all end up in peace, or is war at hand? Not my kind of movie…

If you want to laugh, and if you like Star Wars, Spaceballs is a legendary movie that you simply have to watch. This is a Star Wars parody from the 80s, and it is amazing. I haven’t seen it in a decade, but when I was young, I watched it over and over again.

How to watch Prime abroad?

But, how can you watch all this content and the rest of the recommended Prime movies in June if you are abroad? Amazonprime.fromabroad.org is here to help you out with information about which VPN provider to pick and how to stream Prime content outside the United States.

Enjoy June with all the content coming to Amazon Prime!

Watch Suits season 8 on Amazon Prime

Have you been waiting for Suits season 8 to come to Amazon Prime for a long time? It has almost been a year since it premiered on the USA Network in the USA, but now it is finally about to arrive.

Suits is one of the biggest success stories in the history of the USA Network, and the creators say that it has been one of their very defining series all the way since the start. If you take a look at the number of viewers on their actual channel in the USA, the numbers aren’t that high (the last season had around 1 million viewers), but we all know that there is much more to Suits than just a million viewers. After all, the biggest viewer base of Suits is coming from Netflix, and of course from Amazon Prime with the seasons available at the streaming platform.

From June 17th you can watch Suits season 8 on Amazon Prime
From June 17th you can watch Suits season 8 on Amazon Prime

And there is little doubt about the fact that Suits has a giant viewer crowd worldwide. The fact that Meghan Markle went from being Rachel in the series to become a part of the royal family of England was also received with joy from the fans. They all miss her in Suits, but maybe they have a slight hope to see her return for a little role in season 9 of Suits. The ninth season will premiere on USA Network on July 17th in 2019, and it is also easy to watch Suits season 9 on Netflix, so click the link for more information if you want to do so.

How to watch Suits on Amazon Prime abroad?

Maybe you have an Amazon Prime subscription, or maybe you would like to get one, but you don’t know how it can be done abroad? Well, it is quite easy, and you can do so easily if you follow the instructions here at amazonprime.fromabroad.org. In that article, you will find out which VPN you should use to stream the content at Amazon Prime abroad. You might believe that any VPN will do, but if that is what you thought, you are very wrong. It is almost impossible to find a VPN that actually works with Amazon Prime, and that is why you better read those instructions first.
If you do not have an Amazon Prime subscription yet, you can easily get one. While you need an American payment card to pay for Instant videos, you can use any payment card to pay for your Amazon Prime subscription. In other words, go ahead and start your 30-day Amazon Prime trial today if you haven’t signed up yet.

But, do not forget that you can watch all 8 seasons of Suits on Netflix as well, and when the ninth season of Suits will premiere in the USA in July, you can follow the instructions above to stream the same content on Netflix straight away.

No matter where you decide to stream Suits season 8 and Suits season 9, enjoy! Do not forget that we had to wait almost one full year for Suits season 8 to come to Amazon Prime, so do not expect the ninth season to be added to Netflix anytime shortly.

Watch Fleabag season 2 on Amazon Prime

One of the highlights on Amazon Prime in the USA in May is without a doubt the arrival of Fleabag season 2. This eccentric woman is finally returning to Amazon Prime, and the season that ended on BBC in the UK on April 8th will arrive in its fullness to Amazon Prime in the USA on May 17th.

I have earlier written articles about how you can watch Fleabag on Netflix (which is impossible), and also on how and where to watch Fleabag season 1 and 2 online. So far, the only solution is to watch it on BBC iPlayer in the UK. You might find that to be complicated, and maybe you even use a VPN that is banned by BBC iPlayer, but luckily, there are VPN solutions working with BBC iPlayer still, so click the links in the previous sentence to find out more about how you can watch Fleabag season 2 online on BBC iPlayer if you cannot wait for its arrival on Amazon Prime on May 17th.

Fleabag season 2 on Amazon Prime on May 17th

As I mentioned in my article on what’s coming to Amazon Prime in May 2019, the second season of Fleabag might be the biggest highlight for many people. There is something about the BBC productions that make people love them, and Fleabag isn’t the only example of such a success story from BBC.

In fact, the biggest success might be Line of Duty, a BBC show that originally started on BBC2. However, it received lots of prices and millions of viewers, so after three seasons, BBC decided to air the show on their main channel, BBC1 instead. Now they just finished the fifth season of Line of Duty, and that can also be streamed on BBC iPlayer, giving you one more reason to test that service.

As you might know, Line of Duty isn’t really on Amazon Prime, but you can find it in most Netflix regions. We still have to wait for Line of Duty season 5 to get on Netflix, but I guess it will be a matter of a few months before we will see it on the streaming service in the USA.

Can I watch Fleabag season 1 on Amazon Prime?

While waiting for the second season to come on May 17th, you will be happy to hear that you can stream the full season 1 on Amazon Prime with your current subscription.

Watch Fleabag on Amazon Prime in the USA
Watch Fleabag on Amazon Prime in the USA

If you see the small letters on the picture above, you can see that the title isn’t available at my current location. That is because I am writing this article from Europe, and I cannot watch Amazon Prime here. Or, I can watch Amazon Prime here, but I need to use an alternative solution which will make the Amazon website believe that I am located in the United States. Unfortunately, most VPN providers are blocked by Amazon Prime, but there are a few exceptions, and to find out how you can watch Amazon Prime content easily online outside the USA, click the link and read the instructions in that article.

New on Amazon Prime in May 2019

Amazon Prime might be a fantastic service with all sorts of products included, but we all know that the streaming part is the most popular and used service included with your Prime subscription in the USA. But, what are you gonna be streaming on Amazon Prime in May 2019?

If I have got to be honest, and one should be writing an article like this, I will probably not stream anything on Amazon Prime in May. There are a couple of shows I like and would love to see, but I do not have the time to watch all the content I am interested in (unfortunately). I would, for example, love to watch the BBC series Fleabag which is served as an Amazon Original show in the USA. The second season will be added to Amazon Prime in May, so that is a treat for fans of BBC series and British humor.

Another TV show I would love to watch is Sneaky Pete. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten myself through the first season yet, so I will not start with season 3 coming to Amazon Prime in May 2019. But, if I ever would get a sea of time, this is one of the shows I could be interested in watching.

Morning Glory is a movie with Rachel McAdams and Harrison Ford. A quite interesting combination, and knowing that Rachel McAdams has millions of fans worldwide, this is a really nice movie to watch, even if it isn’t the best one!

Have you ever wanted to open an amusement park? That is what is happening in Action Point, a comedy that will come to Amazon Prime in May 2019. It doesn’t look like the best movie, but it might be funny if you are really tired and have nothing else to watch on Amazon Prime.

Check the video above to see some clips from the best movies coming to Amazon Prime in May 2019, or find your own favorite as you look through the complete list of Amazon Prime arrivals in May 2019 beneath.

Coming to Amazon Prime April 2019

So, what can you look forward to on Amazon Prime in April 2019? Are there any titles coming that you need to write down in your schedule, and that should make your heart beat faster?

April will be a fantastic month for movie lovers and those in love with great TV shows. It will be the month when the movie expected to create the biggest revenue in all of 2019 will arrive, Avengers: Endgame. Personally, I look very much forward to this movie as well, and I hope to be in the cinema among the first to see this and experience the movie. How will it all end? Will the Avengers bring revenge upon all the fallen heroes from the Infinity Wars movie? I have no clue, but I really hope it will be amazing!

Highlights on Amazon Prime in April 2019

If you look through the list of content coming to Amazon Prime in April 2019, you might feel disappointed, just like me. There are a couple of highlights, for example Vikings season 5 and also the brand new season of Bosch, the Amazon original series.

The Book Club is another entertaining movie, and as I have mentioned in some other articles, this is a movie about sex among elders, and of course, what to do when you are a pensioner and your body is turning old.

Besides these, there are a couple of highlights, but in general, it will be yet another dull month on Amazon Prime. If you are a fan of James Bond, make sure to check out all the James Bond movies coming on April 1st to the streaming platform.

If you like scary movies, then you might want to watch A Quiet Place from April 21st or later. Here you will see the main character from the new Jack Ryan series on Amazon in a world in which they need to stay entirely quiet. If they make a sound, they will be attacked and killed. But, is it possible to stay entirely quiet? How can they make their kids stay quiet?

Would you like to watch a crazy comedy? The movie Overboard will come to Amazon Prime in April 2019. I watched this in the cinema. It isn’t the best movie, but it will for sure do if you want to get a laugh or two while watching a very rude boat captain who has inherited a lot of money, behave in an inproper way towards a lady who simply comes to help clean up on his boat.

Normally, Amazon Prime and Hulu are quite similar when it comes to new movies, but there is one exception – Hulu often adds Scandinavian movies that Amazon Prime never bring. This has been true when it comes to the Department Q movies, then The Guilty which came in the end of February 2019, and in April 2019, it will be true again.

Now it is time for the Norwegian catastrophe movie named The Quake to be added to Hulu, and I hoped it would come to Amazon Prime as well… but unfortunately, it will not happen!

Unfortunately, April will be a quite boring month on Amazon Prime, so I guess I will spend my hours preparing for Avengers: Endgame, and the new episodes of Game of Thrones season 8 streaming content on other platforms, and not on Amazon Prime. What about you? Do you have anything special that you look forward to on Amazon Prime in April 2019? I would love to hear from you!

How to enjoy Prime abroad?

Are you living outside the United States, but want to enjoy your Amazon Prime subscription and stream all the content available with your Amazon Prime subscription? How can it be done?

You do not have to look further, because here at amazonprime.fromabroad.org you can find all the information you need in order to watch Amazon Prime and Amazon Instant Videos online outside the United States. Go ahead, look around, add a bookmark to this site, and you will be ready to find all the information you need about titles coming to Amazon Prime, tips on how to stream Amazon Prime from abroad, and other helpful and news related articles!

But, if you lack patience, the best VPN for those who want to watch Amazon Prime content from abroad is ExpressVPN. They have been working constantly for years with Amazon Prime, and they have one of the best refund policies on the market (valid for 30 days). You can use their VPN client on three computers/places at the very same time, and you can use it freely with no bandwidth limitations, and reap the benefits of their no-logging policy.

Besides this, ExpressVPN is capable of unblocking much more than Amazon Prime. You can, for example, get access to 6-7 different Netflix regions with ExpressVPN, you can stream BBC from abroad, ITV abroad, ZDF abroad, TVNOW abroad, Hulu abroad, and much more. Doesn’t that sound cool?

If you click the link above you will even be entitled for 3 months of free usage if you sign up for their 12-month package. Enjoy!
